Butler County Schools, led by Superintendent Robert Tuck, has opened its Local Accountability Dashboard to families and community members. The page at butlerschools.net/accountability-dashboard shows how the district is preparing students beyond a test score.
The dashboard started with a question. Butler County families, students, educators, and business leaders helped the district answer it: What should a Butler County graduate know, be able to do, and be ready to contribute?
When the district asked families what they wanted for their kids, they described a person. Someone who shows up with integrity, keeps going when things get hard, explains their thinking, works with others, and thinks about more than themselves. Those answers became the five competencies of the Portrait of a Learner. The dashboard shows how Butler County Schools is delivering on them.
The page is organized around four pillars, each built from a question families asked. Who are our students becoming? What is happening in classrooms every day? Is our community connected to the work? Where is this education leading? Each pillar pairs stories from real Butler County classrooms with data that tracks progress over time.
The dashboard works alongside Kentucky's state accountability system. It adds a fuller picture of student success, including character, community connections, and readiness for life after high school.
There is also a place for the community to step in. Families, businesses, and neighbors can use the page to volunteer, become a community partner, or share a story with the district. Butler County Schools is stronger when the whole community shows up.
